Engineering and Analysis Experts

ASW's engineering and analysis experts gain up-to-date, firsthand knowledge of new technologies and performance variances between the lab and field applications through the multiple research-and-development projects we manage each year. They have extensive, practical experience in assessing existing and proposed systems to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Some of the engineering and analysis experts on the ASW team include:

Christine Baginski

A Senior Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager with ASW, Christine Baginski has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Mechanical Engineering. Serving as a mechanical engineer since the mid '80s, she brings a broad experience base to the ASW Engineering team. Her professional affiliations include active membership, and officer responsibilities, in both the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers.

She has served as project manager for dozens of audit projects conducted by ASW and has had extensive hands-on experience with data reduction, systems analysis and report writing.

Some of the many projects in which Ms. Baginski has played a key role, include:

  • Project management for the SBEA (Small Business Energy Alliance) Energy Savers Program, a third-party initiative funded by the CPUC (2001 – present)

  • Site inspections for preliminary analysis to quantify ESCO opportunities, SCE outdoor lighting project, central plant feasibility studies, etc. (1994 – present)

  • Development and reporting of baseline and energy savings for School Districts in Irvine, Ontario/Montclair, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Upland and other ESCO projects (1994 – present)

  • On-site field data collection for central plant feasibility studies (1994 – 2000)

  • Day-to-day project management support for audit programs, load shed projects, comfort wise home builder projects (1995 – 2000)

  • Assistance in the Measurement and Verification efforts for the Standard Performance Contract program and other utility programs (1995 – 2000)

He is familiar with TOU impact analysis regarding co-generation systems. In the past several years, Mr. Hinrichs has been instrumental to the success of many ASW projects, including:

  • Designed the database and report structure for the SBEA (Small Business Energy Alliance) Energy Savers Program, a third-party initiative funded by the CPUC (2001 – present)

  • Developed Customer Information Database (CID) for maintaining aggregated electric load forecasting (1997 – 1998)

  • Site inspection in support of SCE Demand Side Management (DSM) projects (1990 – 1998)

  • Primary researcher for analysis of 1000 kW compressed air life cycle/fuel comparison (1996)

  • Developed software to support baseline analysis of energy use for ESCO performance assessment (1994 – 1995)

  • Conducted several on-site chiller tests (1990 – 1996)

Dennis Rowan, P.E.

Dennis Rowan came to ASW Engineering with a significant background in manufacturing, having knowledge of end-use systems that support the production industry. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. Mr. Rowan is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. In the past several years, Mr. Rowan has played a key role in multiple projects, including:

  • Contractor Coordinator for the SBEA (Small Business Energy Alliance) Energy Savers Program, a third-party initiative funded by the CPUC (2001 – present)
